Taking some time to prepare yourself and run through final checks are crucial in landing and securing the job you are going to interview for. A lot of young people tend to go to an interview without preparation, which leads to many rejections no matter how many times they tried. Here are a few tips for you to prepare yourself for a job interview.

Dress decently and in a professional manner.
When going for a job interview, remember to take a shower and clean yourself first, we encountered several candidates who turned up to an interview with bed-head and unshaved, please don’t do that. First impression counts, make sure to dress up properly, for man, suit up and wear a covered shoes; for ladies, your skirts or dress have to be at least knee-length, and make sure to button up your shirt as well, and wear covered flats or heels.

Research the company you are going for.
A lot of graduates make the mistake of not researching and doing homework on the company they are about to go for interview for. There is always a high chance that your future employer will ask what do you know about their company, so make sure to do your homework and check what is the company’s industry and details on the background.

Bring necessary documents.
Please make sure to avoid going to an interview empty-handed as it shows that you are unprepared and you do not take the position seriously. Even if the recruiter does not mention anything, bring along your latest resume, necessary certifications, a list of reference and a notebook for notes taking (optional).

Be attentive and ask questions. Listen carefully to what the recruiter is saying during your interview session, if you want, you may jot down some points you would like to take note of. At the end of the interview, try to ask some questions to show that you are passionate and you are excited to join them. Some questions you may want to ask include what is the job environment? If I am shortlisted, when can I start? When can I expect to hear from you?

Job interview is not something that you want to do it simply, be sure to prepare yourself and truly know if this is the position you want before agreeing to meet the employer. If you need any assistance in looking for jobs, call us up and we will find for you!
